Wine Tasting

Enjoy a taste of history with Louisbourg Wine Tasting. Join sommeliers Philip and Rosalind Belitsky as they clink glasses 18th-century style to begin your journey into Louisbourg's culinary past. Or should that be repast? It's as serious as you want it to be and lots of fun, too. An evening of 18th-century food, drink, history and merriment.

The Tour
The evening's events begin with an exclusive tour of the Governor's apartments, where guests will enjoy stories of his past adventures. The tour will be followed by a full course meal of fine French cuisine featuring authentic recipes, including our historic chocolate. Each course of the meal will be paired with old-world wine selections inspired by the 1744 inventory of the estate of Governor Duquesnel of Louisbourg. The evening concludes with a twilight walk through the Fortress.

The Fortress of Louisbourg is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. At times, the weather can be unpredictable, so please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a sweater.
